Actinobacteria / Actinobacteria / Micrococcales / Microbacteriaceae / Glaciibacter Gram stain positive, aerobic, non‐spore‐forming actinobacterium. Motile by a single polar flagellum. Colonies on TSA are white, round, smooth, and shiny. Cells are rod shaped and tend to aggregate when grown on TSB at >15°C. Growth is psychrophilic with temperatures between −5 and 25°C. The peptidoglycan contains 2,4‐diaminobutyric acid and is of the type B2γ. The muramic acid is of the acetyl type. MK‐12 and MK‐13 or MK‐11 are the main menaquinones . The main fatty acid profile contains anteiso‐C 15:0 , anteiso‐C 17:0 , iso‐C 16:0 , and iso‐C 15:0 . The genus Glaciibacter belongs to the family Microbacteriaceae and is phylogenetically related to the genera Subtercola and Agreia . The genus contains the single species, Glaciibacter superstes , represented by two strains isolated from a permafrost ice wedge in Alaska. The type strain is AHU1791 T . DNA G + C content (mol % ) : 65.3–65.4 (HPLC). Type species : Glaciibacter superstes Katayama, Kato, Tanaka, Douglas, Brouchkov, Fukuda, Tomita and Asano 2009, 485 VP .
