Description
Summary:The longest of the War’s chapters depicts another valiant Frog defeat. As in the first chapter, the Toad air force continues their atrocity campaign, targeting civilians and the defenseless wounded. The story moves back and forth from air to ground. Only briefly do Frogs retrieve their dead and wounded, one of the few sentimental gestures in the entire comics. Vengeance and cruelty motivate the combatants. The battle as usual is simplified into individual combat, though here it concludes with a complex depiction of a melee. The Toad victory was costly; to take the island, twice as many Toads died than Frogs.
