Five hundred years of change and transformation have forged a different society, a balance with no midpoint. The destruction of social, traditional and spiritual values has made a deep wound in the hearts of First Nations Peoples. We also must not forget in our spirits the First Nations that were wiped out by the Spanish, French and English, in their greed, appropriation and conquest of a world different from theirs. It is because of genocide, torture and death that at the end of the twentieth century, the new generation searches for different ways to express its ideals and goals, ways that will permit the continuing survival of the First Nations. One form of expression that has a very important role in the political struggle of First Nations people is theatre.
