The Milankovich orbital variations of the earth appear to be primary factors in governing global climates (Lorius et al. 1990). Recent analyses of the effects of frequency variations of the orbital obliquity of the earth, superimposed on records of the eccentricity of its orbit, indicate that the frequency variations may induce climatic changes by modulating the seasonal distribution of solar radiation (Liu 1992).
