The new century Garifuna New York City organizations responded to their human rights and territorial challenges in Central America. Their outreach goes beyond Central America. Garifuna organization exchanges with their Carib descendant communities in St. Vincent islands also increased. Overall, Garifuna groups activism was both in their New York City communities and their homelands.
