A new natural definitive host, and morphometry of Soboliphyme baturini Petrow, 1930 in interior Alaska

One marten (Martes americana) and nine mink (Mustela vison) from near Fairbanks, Alaska, were examined; two Soboliphyme baturini Petrow, 1931 were removed from the marten and a total of 98 from eight of the nine mink. These findings extend the known range of the parasite in North America about 800 miles to the northwest of the nearest previous record at Petersburg, Alaska, and, with the mink, add a new natural definitive host. Morphological measurements of these worms are given and compared with those available from other areas.
