Summary: | An examination of faecal concentrates from 46 subjects, representing all age groups, revealed that 46% harbored entozoa of one or more species. Twenty-eight per cent were positive for Diphyllobothrium sp., 26% for Entamoeba coli, 11% for Giardia lamblia, 2% for Chilomastix mesnili (a new record for the Canadian subarctic), and 2% for Endolimax nana. The 5- to 9-year age group exhibited the highest incidence and greatest variety of parasites. Comprising only 22% of the total, it accounted for 47% of the species records. |
