As a prelude to Eskimo land-use claims, 85 percent of male Eskimos were interviewed for information on their use of land for presentation in atlas form. A 9 × 12 inch format was used to make the information readily available at the least possible cost. This required many difficult design decisions for the clear presentation of land use and species habitation in many large overlapping areas. The resulting atlas of 230 full-color map plates costs $14.00.
