Length–Weight Relations of Pacific Ocean Perch ( Sebastes alutus ) in the North Pacific Ocean

Length–weight relations for Pacific ocean perch (Sebastes alutus) were determined by the iterative method from data collected aboard Soviet research vessels in the North Pacific Ocean, from Kamchatka, USSR (53°N lat), to Oregon, USA (44°N lat). Interarea values of a (in W = aL b ) ranged from 0.0076...

Empirical tests indicated that individual area formulae generally produced acceptable calculated weights. Interarea comparisons of calculated weights provided additional evidence of the existence of discrete stocks and two subspecies of Pacific ocean perch in the North Pacific Ocean.
