It has become a pest of limited economic importance in hay and pasture fields, and lawns. Black light traps, operated at Mt. Pearl and Kilbride during 1966–1978, were used to monitor population build-up. Notes on the life history of the antler moth in Newfoundland, with some comparisons with that in Great Britain and Europe, are provided. Natural controls are also discussed.
