Planktomya henseni Simroth 1896 is a pelagic bivalve widely distributed throughout the warm-temperate and tropical North and South Atlantic Ocean. It is also known from a single collection in the tropical Pacific Ocean. The geographical distribution of Planktomya is probably circumtropical.
