Correction Factor for Accumulation Measured by the Thickness of the Annual Layers in an Ice Sheet

Abstract The annual layers in an ice sheet become thinner by plastic deformation, and measurements of annual accumulation by the examination of cores therefore need correction. A simple correction factor is derived.
