Abstract A reexamination of Isotoma carpenteri Börner, 1909 (Far East), I. dilatosetosa Martynova, 1980 (Jakutia), I. jacutica Martynova, 1980 (Jakutia) and Sibirisotoma stebajevae Rusek, 1991 (Soviet Asia) indicates that they all belong to the same taxon, Heteroisotoma Stach, which is redescribed and given rank as subgenus in Isotoma Bourlet.
