Abstract A lectotype and paralectotype of Corticaria orbicollis Mannerheim I853 from Alaska are designated, and the species shown to be identical with the Fennoscandian munsteri Strand I937 (syn. nov.). It is suggested that columbia Fall I899 from British Columbia might also be the same species.
