Shanghai Ocean University

Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) is a public research university in Shanghai, China, dedicated to the study of aquaculture, marine science and engineering. This university is a part of the national Double First-Class Construction Initiative. It is co-established by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Shanghai Municipal Government.

Founded in 1912, the university has been a fisheries higher education institution, known as ''Jiangsu Provincial Fisheries School'', founded by Zhang Jian and Huang Yanpei. In 1952, it became ''Shanghai Fisheries College'' and then was renamed Shanghai Ocean University in 2008. Today it enrolls approximately 12,098 undergraduate students and 5,700 graduate students. The university consists of 14 colleges and offers degree programs at undergraduate and graduate levels in some 44 disciplines. Provided by Wikipedia
