Thomas Crowther

Thomas Crowther (1794 – 1859) was an evangelical clergyman in the Church of England who served as perpetual curate of St John in the Wilderness at Cragg Vale from 1822 until 1859. He was a friend of the Brontë family and an outspoken critic of the working conditions for children employed in cotton factories. Provided by Wikipedia
