. The principal port on the Chukchi Sea is

in Russia. The
International Date Line
crosses the Chukchi Sea from northwest to southeast. It is displaced eastwards to avoid Wrangel Island as well as the
Chukotka Autonomous Okrug
on the Russian
mainland
.
